To bolster Thailand’s logistics and supply chain capabilities, Pattaya Airways Co., Ltd. officially launched its air cargo services on 21st August. The pre-commercial flight marked the beginning of what the airline hopes will be a transformative phase in the region’s airfreight industry. The flight, conducted with an ATR 72-500 Freighter, named “Thantima” (HS-PAW), operated between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phuket International Airport, showcasing Thailand’s journey toward becoming a logistics powerhouse.

Inaugural flight

The ATR 72-500 Freighter, known for its reliability and efficiency, is ideally suited for short to medium-haul routes within Thailand and the broader ASEAN region. Its deployment signals Pattaya Airways’ commitment to optimising air cargo operations, which are critical to supporting the country’s thriving manufacturing, retail, and healthcare industries.

Pattaya Airways’ foray into air cargo services represents more than just the expansion of its business operations—it is a strategic move to revolutionise logistics in the ASEAN region. With the introduction of its air cargo services, Pattaya Airways aims to provide a safe, innovative, and highly efficient solution for transporting goods across key destinations within Thailand and neighbouring countries.

The airline’s strategy is clear: to capitalise on the growing demand for airfreight services driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce, manufacturing exports, and the healthcare sector. Thailand’s position
