How did you get into airfreight and logistics?
Completely by chance. My neighbour once asked if I’d help out at Schiphol Airport — that was 1991, and I never left the industry.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Be yourself. Believe in what you bring — authenticity always wins.
What’s one thing we wouldn’t know from your CV?
I was an ice-skating coach and currently train athletes in strength, power and endurance. Sports and logistics — both require stamina.
If you hadn’t gone into airfreight, what would you be doing?
Hard to say. Once you’re in airfreight, you don’t really leave. The path just keeps unfolding.
What’s a hobby you’ve always wanted to try?
Acting on stage. I’d love to be part of a performance — a bit of drama, a bit of fun.
Your proudest moment?
Becoming a mom. My daughter is 27 now, and I’m so proud of the strong, smart woman she’s become.
Superpower of choice?
To end war.
Favourite airport?
London City, because I like the take-off; the engines go to full power while the aircraft’s breaks are still on, and then it launches.
Biggest change in the industry?
People are finally recognising the value of technology and its impact on operational efficiency.
Best and worst purchases?
Best: My e-bike and any good pair of shoes. Worst: That food processor I never used.
Go-to meal?
A fresh salad with tomato, cucumber, chicken, and balsamic dressing. Simple, clean, and satisfying.
Most used emoji?
Smiley face — always trying to keep things positive.
Advice for anyone starting in logistics?
Start anywhere. Be open, stay curious, and take every opportunity that comes your way. The cargo world is full of growth if you’re willing to jump in.
