Windracers names new lead to drive defence growth

  • Windracers, the British civil and defence drone manufacturer, has appointed Mark Farrell as Defence Sales Director to support its growing presence in the global defence market.
  • Farrell brings over 20 years of experience in defence and unmanned aerial system (UAS) sales, having previously held senior roles at Quantum Systems and Lockheed Martin.
In his new position, Farrell will lead on the company’s engagement with defence organisations and agencies in the UK and internationally, supporting Windracers’ strategy to deliver Windracers ULTRA, the world’s most accomplished dual-use heavy-lift drone, to military partners.
Mark Farrell said: “Windracers engineers, manufactures and operates Windracers ULTRA that is unique in the UAS market – a long-distance heavy-lift UAS that flies autonomously to deliver missions and, mostly importantly, has proven itself in real operations in Ukraine.
“I am excited to help grow our defence partnerships, ensuring delivery to customers and building upon on the foundation already in place.”
The appointment reflects Windracers commitment to expanding its defence footprint alongside continuing work in humanitarian aid, research and civil air cargo sectors.
