One thing that never changes in logistics is the fact that the industry constantly changes. As such, WCAworld, the largest network of independent freight forwarders, is continually looking ahead to anticipate industry shifts and deliver new solutions for its members.
With e-commerce sales set to account for almost a quarter of all global retail sales by the end of 2025, e-commerce logistics has continued to be an increasing focus for WCAworld members. Creating a solution that works across all facets has taken both time and expertise, but WCAworld now offers WCA Integrated Solutions – the perfect network for those involved in both e-commerce and courier logistics.
In direct response to member demand, WCAworld this year launched its latest network: WCA Live Events & Expo, for freight forwarders that specialise in events and exhibition logistics. Network manager Adam McKenna noticed that many WCAworld speciality members were already providing logistics services to some of the world’s largest events, but they didn’t have a place to connect and find other reputable partners. This is where WCA Live Events & Expo was born. Adam is in Munich this week and welcomes all conversations about WCAworld membership and finding expert partners in this space.
Technology advancements cannot be ignored, and this is where WCAworld is at the forefront. With an in-house team of app developers, WCAworld is able to listen to its member base and develop and improve apps that address problems regularly faced by its users.
This year saw the launch of its updated Events App, with new features including instant messaging between members, interactive maps, and one-on-one meeting schedules in their hand – giving members attending WCAworld events a seamless and immediate way to manage their conference schedule and optimise their time on site.
WCAworld continues to support its members with technological developments through its Freightoscope product. Again, this has been developed with and for freight forwarders, offering solutions that rival those used by multinationals but with a more affordable and tailored approach. WCAworld remains committed to listening to its members and developing tech that responds directly to their needs.
The ability for WCAworld members to directly influence the development of such tools is a strong driver for why so many independent freight forwarders want to be part of WCAworld. This, along with the unrivalled financial protection programme—the highest in the industry—and the confidence that when you work with another WCAworld member, you are working with the best.
