Volga Dnepr transports endangered Przewalski horses to Russia

Volga-Dnepr Group has transported six Przewalski horses to Orenburg (Russia) to support reintroducing the endangered animal to the Ural River area of Russia.

The animals were transported on an AirBridgeCargo Airlines Boeing 737-400 Special Freighter from Montpellier (France) to Orenburg, a six hour flight, accompanied by three representatives of the Association for the Przewalski Horse.

The group transported the horses in special stables and then transported by road. The horses were from the Tour du Valat Biology Station and are part of a pilot project to introduce Przewalski horses in the Preduralskaya Step of the Orenburgsky Reserve.

AirBridgeCargo Airlines lead load planning specialist, Alexey Grebinyak says: “We took the utmost care of these special animals. The stables were carefully installed and secured inside the cargo cabin and ambient noises were minimised to ensure the horses were as comfortable as possible. We also maintained the temperature in the cargo hold below 20 degrees centigrade.”
