Virgin Atlantic Cargo flies £4m Koenigsegg Jesko from London to LA

  • Virgin Atlantic Cargo flew a £4 million Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut hypercar from London to Los Angeles on flight VS23, without adding a mile to its clock.

  • The move, organised with Pro-Logist for automotive influencer Zach’s Garage, highlighted the airline’s specialist handling and “white-glove” cargo service.

  • The behind-the-scenes operation showcased how extraordinary items — from hypercars to artwork — travel beneath passengers on regular commercial flights.

While customers onboard Virgin Atlantic flight VS23 from London Heathrow to Los Angeles were settling into their seats, few realised what was tucked beneath them in the hold, a £4 million Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut hypercar.

Making its US showcase, this rare hypercar was transported over 5,000 miles without ever touching the road. The move, organised by Virgin Atlantic Cargo with its customer, Pro-Logist, was on behalf of renowned automotive influencer Zach’s Garage. It shines a light on a little-known reality of modern air travel, the remarkable cargo flying in the belly of commercial aircraft.

Built for speed, engineered to perfection, and rarely seen outside of private collections, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a marvel of design and performance. But what’s even more astonishing is how it travelled: securely loaded in Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s specialist DCE facility, carefully handled through airport operations, and flown just like any other priority shipment, albeit with white-glove treatment.

From tarmac to taxiway, every moment of the journey was captured for a special behind-the-scenes video showcasing the airline’s handling expertise. Footage shows the vehicle being loaded airside, positioned in the aircraft hold, and transferred between ground crews and Zach himself.

Most travellers don’t give a second thought to what’s flying below their feet, but alongside suitcases and mail, Virgin Atlantic Cargo regularly carries everything from strawberries to pharmaceuticals and even priceless artwork. On this occasion, it was one of the fastest hypercars in the world, travelling in pristine condition for its US debut, without adding a single mile to the clock.

Nick Diesel, Managing Director, Virgin Atlantic Cargo, said:  “It’s not every day you fly a £4 million hypercar on a passenger aircraft, but that’s exactly the kind of challenge our team excels at. From precision handling to specialist cargo processes, we’re proud to offer the kind of white-glove service trusted by collectors, curators and creators around the world. Moving this extraordinary car was a privilege and a powerful reminder of the remarkable cargo travelling beneath our customers every day.”

Zach from Zach’s Garage, commented:  “This is one of the rarest cars in the world and the fact we flew it under holidaymakers on a regular passenger flight is just quite the concept. It’s a real look behind the curtain at how the top-tier vehicles move and the care and attention that the Virgin Atlantic teams provide to make it happen.”

Silvia Tarchi, Managing Director, Pro-Logist commented:    “The more we understood the details and uniqueness of the client’s vision, the more confident we became that we could deliver a truly memorable experience thanks to our strong partnership with Virgin Atlantic Cargo. It paid off to dream big—and it was incredibly exciting for us too. This project was a perfect example of how work and pleasure can blend seamlessly.”

The car was flown from LHR to LAX on 5 August. Once in LA, the car was reunited with its owner and is currently being admired at various events in California.
