Velta relocates UK airfreight office

A strong start to the year for the Velta group has been cemented with the relocation of the airfreight and courier team to a new and larger premises.

Velta International Heathrow completed the move at the beginning of February and is now located just to the south of Heathrow Airport in Ashford Middlesex.

The larger office and warehouse space enables the handling and processing of more cargo and packages than previously.

Accommodating with ease the loading and unloading of 40ft artics and sea freight containers, the 5500 square feet warehouse is part racked for palletized cargo and contains ample bulk floor space to accommodate less conventional sizes of freight shipment, making it also ideal for the process and dispatch of Velta courier shipments.

Complementing the warehouse facility, the large open planned operational office, with private meeting rooms and management areas accommodates the recent growth experienced by the Heathrow team.

Having seen a 17 per cent increase in demand for airfreight shipments over the past year, and a 60 per cent increase in courier bookings due to the acquisition and integration of Tiger International Couriers, Velta says the move was a logical decision for the team who have their sights set on further expansion in the coming months.
