UKWA unveils digital makeover for Warehouse Manager CPC

The UK Warehouse Association (UKWA) has unveiled a streamlined new look for its Warehouse Manager CPC (Certificate of Competence), which was launched in January last year.

The first ever independently accredited qualification for warehouse management in the UK, the CPC course previously included 10 days of classroom learning and a site visit. From February 2025 the course will offer a new blended format with on-demand learning resources, including 15 units covering topics such as inventory management, health & safety and warehouse automation, all available via the UKWA App. The App will be released to learners one month prior to the course start date and will include knowledge checks and tutor check-ins.

This will be complemented by 5 days of face-to-face tutoring, with focussed in-class days led by industry experts, hands-on group exercises, case studies, peer networking, and a warehouse site visit.

Commenting on the new digital format, UKWA CEO Clare Bottle said, “For leaners, the blended format allows for self-paced learning with the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained to practical challenges in a ‘real world’ scenario. For employers, the benefit is the substantially reduced impact of having a key member of staff out of the business for training as ‘away days’ will be reduced by 50%.”

UKWA member Howard Tenens, whose Team Leader Becky Chester-Watts attended the most recent course, described the UKWA Warehouse Manager CPC as ‘a reputable and challenging qualification designed to set the standard for excellence in warehouse management.’

The February cohort is fully booked, but a series of courses are planned throughout the year. The next cohort will start on 31 March and is open for bookings.
