Ukraine Airlines picks ECS as exclusive GSSA for India

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has chosen ECS Globe Air Cargo India as its exclusive GSSA in India.

ECS Group’s Indian branch office has been supporting UIA throughout the Indian sub-continent following the airline starting flights between Kiev Boryspil Airport and Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on 1 May.

The airline is operating three flights a week using a Boeing 767-300ER with cargo capacity of up to 10 tonnes, and a fourth flight will be added on 7 June.

ECS Globe Air Cargo India expects to generate about 2,000 tonnes per annum for UIA with pharmaceuticals, leather goods, chemicals, machinery and textiles being among the most important commodities.

UIA director of cargo and mail, Peter Kukharchuk says: “The flights from Delhi are scheduled so as to provide non-stop service and convenient connections with the UIA flights to the cities of Ukraine and Europe at Kiev Boryspil International Airport. UIA keeps developing business model of a network carrier and improve on Ukraine’s image as a transit country.”

ECS Globe Air Cargo India country manager, Girish Kunder says: “Ukraine International Airlines is a prestigious account for us, as we have been handling PS offline since the inception of Globe Air Cargo in India.

“Now, we are happy to serve them online as well. Our team is highly motivated to lay the ground for UIA’s long term business success in India.”
