Tributes paid to Intradco managing director, Eddie McMullen

Tributes have been paid to Intradco managing director, Eddie McMullen, who died on 19 November, aged 66.

McMullen had been in the air cargo industry for over 40 years and was sadly diagnosed with brain cancer in February this year, though “in true Eddie style he battled until his final days, and never let his illness slow him down from enjoying the things he loved”. Tributes have frequently described him as ‘honest’, ‘old school’, ‘maverick’ and ‘fun-loving’.

Chapman Freeborn Group acquired Intradco in February 2014. Intradco specialises in transporting animals, with shipments having included moving giraffes from South Africa to Bangkok, and white tailed deer from the US to Russia.

Chapman Freeborn chief operating officer, Shahe Ouzounian says: “Eddie was a stalwart of the charter industry, a true character and a great aviation man. More importantly, he was a great friend and colleague – we will all remember his sense of humour, kindness and generosity of spirit.”

“He enriched all our lives and we were lucky to have spent at least a little time with him. We will miss him.”

McMullen’s funeral will take place at 15.00h on Thursday 3 December at:
Surrey & Sussex Crematorium
St Richard’s Chapel
Balcombe Road
Crawley
RH10 3NQ

Those who wish to attend Eddie’s funeral should contact his son, Charlie, his email address is: charlie.mcmullen@intradco-global.com
