Tigers opens office at Frankfurt Airport

Tigers has opened an office at Frankfurt Airport, Germany to act as a gateway for airfreight consolidation starting with trade between Germany and South Africa.

The office is headed by Marc Acksteiner offers the full range of core services including international freight forwarding and Customs brokerage, as well as the EU-China rail freight service, Tiger Rail.

Tigers managing director for Germany and Switzerland, Andreas Niklasch says: “The opening of our new office at Frankfurt Airport aligns with our global strategy to expand our freight activities and gain new volumes for our global freight network.

“By consolidating multiple shipments into a single one, for example from Frankfurt to South Africa, which is a key region for us, we create competitive solutions for our customers.”

Tigers is gearing up to the launch of its online marketplace, the Tigers eShop, which will optimise its e-commerce services to B2B and B2C customers worldwide.

The Group’s Cologne e-commerce fulfilment centre, as well as its eTigers facility in Rotterdam, have both doubled in space in less than a year due to increasing demand.

Tigers managing director for South Africa, Paul Lawrence says: “The new Frankfurt office will boost our global offering, especially in the key verticals and markets, and help strengthen commerce between the two regions.”

Tigers Germany works across a range of industries including industrial goods, aerospace, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, high-tech, perishables, cosmetics and fashion goods.
