TezJet Airlines has officially commenced direct passenger services between Delhi (DEL) and Bishkek (FRU), marking a significant milestone in air connectivity between India and Kyrgyzstan. The new route is expected to strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural links between the two countries while offering travellers a convenient and affordable option for travel.
Often referred to as the “Switzerland of Central Asia”, Kyrgyzstan is renowned for its stunning mountain landscapes, alpine lakes, and rich nomadic heritage. From the crystal-clear waters of Issyk-Kul Lake to the bustling bazaars and Soviet-era charm of Bishkek, the country presents Indian travellers with a compelling mix of adventure, nature, and culture — all within a short direct flight from Delhi. With simplified visa procedures and rapidly growing tourism infrastructure, Kyrgyzstan is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Indian holidaymakers, filmmakers, and adventure tourists.
The inaugural flight ceremony took place at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DIAL), in the presence of the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to India, senior representatives from GMR Airports, and other dignitaries. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, led by the Ambassador and key officials, symbolising the beginning of this new chapter in bilateral connectivity. Check-in counters were decorated to mark the occasion, and passengers were welcomed with sweets and a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony involving TezJet staff, airport authorities, and travellers.
Commenting on the launch, Arun Kumar, President & CEO of TezJet Airlines, said:
“We are thrilled to see our Delhi–Bishkek service take off. This route represents not only a new flight but a new bridge connecting two vibrant regions. India is an important market for us, and we look forward to welcoming Indian travellers to experience the beauty and hospitality of Kyrgyzstan.”
As part of the airline’s expansion in South Asia, TezJet has appointed Aeroprime Group as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in India. Headquartered in New Delhi, Aeroprime is a leading aviation services company with a strong track record in airline representation, sales, customer support, and operations across multiple countries and cities. The company will be responsible for driving TezJet’s passenger and cargo sales, marketing efforts, and customer service in India.
Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director & CEO of Aeroprime Group, said:
“We are proud to partner with TezJet in this exciting journey. The commencement of direct flights between Delhi and Bishkek will unlock immense opportunities for tourism and business, bringing the people of India and Kyrgyzstan closer together.”
The new service will initially operate once a week, every Sunday, providing both passengers and freight customers with direct access between the two capitals. The route is expected to develop further in frequency and scope, offering long-term value for both leisure and commercial segments.
