The airfreight division of SWISS will service Osaka’s Kansai International Airport with a five times weekly flight, operated by an Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
Japan’s third-largest city is in the centre of the Kansai region, a strategically significant destination for cargo.
Swiss WorldCargo’s Japan Team will continue to be led by Tango Tomonari. Since 1 February, Jun Nakatani is head for the Kansai region.
As of March, Swiss WorldCargo will double its total capacity in the Switzerland-Japan market.
Newly introduced Osaka direct flights will complement new daily Boeing 777-300 service offering between Zurich and Tokyo.
Flight operations will be handled by local handling agent ANA Cargo at Kansai International Airport.
