Steven Harvey to run cargo at East Midlands Airport

Steven Harvey has been appointed vice president of cargo at East Midlands Airport, the UK’s largest dedicated cargo airport.

Heading up East Midlands’ cargo operations, Harvey has over 30 years of industry experience having worked at major cargo airlines.

His 30-year career includes working as director of business partnerships and new market development at CargoLogic Management, overseeing airlines including Volga-Dnepr, AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Atran Airlines and CargoLogicAir; chief commercial officer of CargoLogicAir; senior business development manager – EMEIA of Atlas Air; and sales manager Europe for Volga-Dnepr UK and Ruslan International.

Commenting on his new appointment, Harvey says: “The opportunities for the airport are significant particularly as the UK considers new trading relationships with countries all over the world. In future years, EMA will play an even more critical role in facilitating UK trade, supporting businesses and creating jobs for people in this region. I look forward to helping the airport achieve this.”

Beth Brewster, the airport’s commercial and transformation director says: “I’m delighted that Steven is joining EMA at a time when we are planning for the longer-term. Steven’s knowledge of the air cargo industry and, particularly his experience of working with airlines, will be invaluable as we shape our strategies for future growth.”
