SCALA appoints new international business executive

SCALA, the supply chain and logistics consultant, has appointed Juliette Pitt as its new international business executive.

Pitt has been hired to co-ordinate business development between SCALA China and SCALA UK. In her new role, Pitt, who speaks fluent Mandarin, will work closely with the teams from both geographical regions to strengthen SCALA’s service offering across the globe to benefit both SCALA’s clients and ongoing projects. She will also be responsible for seeking out new markets for both Chinese and British service lines.

The new role has been created by SCALA to leverage and co-ordinate the respective strengths of the two teams, focusing on how the two teams can work together to help drive growth and be at the forefront of key developments such as the rise of automation and robotics in the logistics industry.

Commenting on her appointment, Juliette Pitt said: “This is a very exciting opportunity for me to combine my experience in business and Chinese. Within this role I aim to provide SCALA clients with the information they might require facilitating sales into China from the West or supply from China. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with the teams in the UK and China to help grow SCALA internationally and provide a conduit for enhanced communications between the two teams.

“Whilst working from the UK currently, I am hoping to relocate to China soon to fully immerse myself in this new role.”

John Perry, managing director at SCALA, commented: “Juliette is the perfect hire for this role with her business experience across a variety of roles, alongside her ability to speak fluent Chinese. We felt now was the right time to try and enhance the relationship between the UK and China as although they are complementary, they also have specific and differing areas of expertise. It has become clear through several projects we have recently undertaken that so much can be gained from a collaboration between the two teams to benefit the businesses in our respective countries.

“Juliette is joining us to create a collaborative environment that will undoubtedly benefit both teams and allow for a continuation of SCALA’s global growth”.
