Cargolux Airlines International has returned to Santiago de Chile on a re-designed South American route covering four other destinations.
The weekly connection, which started on 14 June operates on a Luxembourg-Viracopos-Santiago de Chile-Quito-Bogota-Aguadilla route before returning to Luxembourg via Amsterdam.
Pier Curci, vice president of the Americas at Cargolux says: “The addition of Santiago to the network further strengthens Cargolux’s position as a flourishing player on the South American market. It is also a testament to the importance of the region in global trade lanes, especially when it comes to perishables such as fruit and flowers.”
Santiago de Chile has become a gateway for European products destined for the Latin American market, particularly sensitive equipment and specialised commodities including machinery, spare parts, pharmaceuticals, building material and electronics.
