Röhlig Logistics expands its global network

Röhlig Logistics has expanded its global network by establishing a new subsidiary in Osaka, Japan, on 1 October 2023.

“As one of the world’s largest economies and a major trading nation, Japan offers enormous market potential. We were previously represented in the country by agents and already have a high level of controlled business there, so entering the Japanese market under our own name is the logical next step”, explains Dr. Robert Gutsche, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Global Executive Board at Röhlig Logistics.

Albert Ho, Regional CEO – North Asia at Röhlig Logistics, says: “Osaka is an ideal starting point for our expansion into Japan. With the 2025 Osaka Expo coming up, the city is set to gain even more traction, especially with the support of our local partner Hankyu Hanshin Express, the logistics arm of the long-standing Osaka business conglomerate of Hankyu Hanshin.”

Röhlig has appointed Nick Takahashi as the General Manager of the new Japanese subsidiary. Nick Takahashi has more than 30 years of commercial and management experience. Nick is Japanese by nationality but has spent many years abroad managing Japanese companies. His extensive international experience will undoubtedly help Röhlig Japan to become a local company with an international flair, so that customers in and outside of Japan can be served even better in the future.
