Rhenus Logistics is continuously expanding its warehouse presence in the United States by opening its first Midwest location in Indianapolis, Indiana, accommodating the growing market needs and customer demands.
A new 13,000 square metres facility will operate as a multi-user fulfilment and distribution center and is set to begin operations by the mid-fourth quarter of 2022. The state-of-the-art warehouse has reached 50% of its capacity for high-tech machinery, e-commerce, and medical devices industries. The facility will provide end-to-end solutions to meet customer demands with value-added services such as pick and pack, sorting, returns management, and more. The new Indianapolis site will be equipped with LED lighting, electric forklifts and recyclable packaging, thus contributing to and improving CO2 footprint.

Furthermore, Indianapolis, known as the Crossroads of America, offers a significant advantage for logistics and distribution operations. Its central location in the Midwest grants access to national and international highways and is ranked as number one in the nation for pass-through highways with five major interstates running and intersecting in the state including I-65, I-70, I-74, and I-69, reaching 80 percent of the United States and Canadian populations in less than two days. In addition, the new warehouse is strategically located close to Indianapolis International airport (IND), the eighth largest air cargo facility in the USA.
