Raya Airways inducts new aircraft

Raya Airways has welcomed the arrival of an additional Boeing 767-200F aircraft, increasing capacity and boosting greater efficiencies for the carrier.

“We are delighted to welcome this new addition to our fleet as it unlocks network expansion opportunities and provides us the capacity to increase our flight frequency and improve connectivity to and from Malaysia.

“Raya is committed to serve as one of the key enablers in the supply chain ecosystem which reflects our unique position in transporting goods requiring a high level of speed, reliability, and security for our customers,” said Mohamad Najib Ishak, managing director of Raya Airways Sdn. Bhd.

Mohamad Najib added: “The accelerated growth of e-Commerce also has reshaped our commitment to anticipate and respond to the evolving needs of our customers and to expand our footprint in the region. With the added capacity, we are steadfast to continually extend our time-definite services to more destinations within ASEAN and potentially across the Asia-Pacific. Our regional network currently consists of over 70 commercial flights per week of which capital cities and other major business centres are interconnected.”

The induction of this new aircraft is part of Raya Airways’ long-term re-fleeting exercise, which will contribute towards reduced operational cost for maintenance and crew training. The newly inducted aircraft has the load capacity of approximately 40 tonnes and an estimation of 5,500km flying range. With this newest addition, Raya Airways’ total fleet size has increased to 4 aircraft encompassing of 2 other Boeing 767-200F and 1 Boeing 737-400F aircraft.

The aircraft was delivered from Wilmington Air Park Airport, USA and landed at 9.40pm (Malaysia time) in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor, on April 6 2021 where Raya Airways’ main base is located. The aircraft was welcomed by a water cannon salute upon arrival.
