Qantas Freight launches direct A330 freighter flights to Shanghai

Qantas Freight will commence new direct A332P2F freighter services between Sydney and Shanghai on 26 June 2025. The twice-weekly services depart on Thursdays and Saturdays, which will mark the first time regular Red Tail A330 freighter flights will operate between these two major cargo hubs providing increased capacity for Australian exporters to access China’s busiest cargo port. Flights have been timed to enable connections from other Australian ports providing more opportunities for Australian producers across the country to uplift their goods onto our international freighter services.  

The service is due to launch on 26 June, departing on Thursdays and Sundays.

The new service will ”mark the first time regular Red Tail A330 freighter flights will operate between these two major cargo hubs” and will provide ”increased capacity for Australian exporters to access China’s busiest cargo port”.

The airline added that flights had been timed to enable connections from other Australian ports, providing more opportunities for Australian producers across the country to uplift their goods to China. In terms of international freighter operations, Qantas Freight also offers flights from Sydney and Perth to Hong Kong using an A330F; Melbourne and Sydney to Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand using an A321F.

It also offers two loops using Boeing 747F, the first originating in Sydney and taking in Chongqing, Shanghai, Anchorage, Chicago, Los Angeles, Honolulu and Auckland; and the second starting in Sydney and going to Bangkok, Shanghai, Anchorage, New York JFK Chicago, Los Angeles and Honolulu.
