Polar Air Cargo appoints new COO

Polar Air Cargo Worldwide has appointed of Lars Winkelbauer as executive vice president and COO, effective July 1, 2018.
Winkelbauer succeeds Robert Hyslop, who is moving from Polar to rejoin DHL Express as senior vice president global aviation, based in Plantation, Florida.

Winkelbauer’s new role will include all aspects of aviation operations, strategy and service performance in Polar’s worldwide network. He will be based in Purchase, New York, and will report to Polar’s president and CEO, William Flynn.

“Lars’ in-depth knowledge of the company, the Asia-Pacific region, and the express airfreight industry will help Polar and its sister companies – Atlas Air, Inc. and Southern Air, Inc. – continue to support DHL Express and to develop in the fast-growing express segment,” says Flynn.
