Oman Air Cargo takes mobile app on digital journey

Oman Air Cargo has launched its mobile app for customers as the first step on its journey towards digitally transforming the business.

The app is available to all customers including shippers and freight forwarders, and is a collaboration with QuantumID Technologies, Oman Air’s cargo system solution provider for the SmartKargo platform.

It was officially launched in Oman as the pilot station in January and will be released across the world in stages this year.

The mobile app is available to download on both Apple and Android, and builds on the deployment of SmartKargo’s cloud-based Cargo Management system launched in September 2017.

Shippers and clients will receive self-service and mobile capabilities for information including quotes, flight schedules and capacity queries, to real-time bookings and tracking notifications.

Paul Starrs, chief commercial officer of Oman Air says: “We have ambitious plans to grow our Cargo business and remain competitive and our collaboration with ‘SmartKargo’ allows us to do so with state-of-the-art technology that is fast to deploy and easy-to-use.”

Mohammed Al Musafir, senior vice president commercial cargo of Oman Air says: “We are thrilled to bring to market this pioneering mobile App that allow our clients to access our schedules, capacity, get a quote and execute real bookings, in addition to offering various other useful unique features.”
