Norwegian renews Menzies de-icing contract

Menzies Aviation has announced the renewal of de-icing contracts with Norway’s largest airline, Norwegian, at three Scandinavian airports. The two-year contracts will see Menzies provide de-icing services for Norwegian at Oslo Airport, Copenhagen Airport and Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport.

It is expected Menzies will support 33,500 turns at Oslo Airport, 13,900 turns at Copenhagen Airport and 200 turns at Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport annually. Menzies also provides a range of ground services for Norwegian in Prague, Amsterdam, Budapest and Nice, having established a relationship with the airline in 2015.

Miguel Gomez, executive vice president, Europe, at Menzies Aviation, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with Norwegian and reinforcing our de-icing network across three Scandinavian airports. These renewals are the result of the close working partnership we have established with Norwegian at its home base in Oslo, and the de-icing expertise demonstrated on the ground by Menzies professionals, with services often delivered in challenging conditions.”
