Muscat sees 7% growth in Q1

Muscat International Airport has seen cargo volumes increase by seven per cent in the first quarter of 2016 to 34,759.8 tonnes.

The airport says Oman Air and Cargolux Airlines International extended their partnership in February to cover twice weekly operations to Mumbai. They had been operating a partnership from Chennai to Muscat connecting on to Luxembourg since 2015.

Other airlines started services to Muscat during the quarter. Jet Airways started Delhi – Muscat services, Shaheen started Islamabad – Muscat flights and Regent Airways started flying Dhaka/Chittagong – Muscat four times a week using a Boeing 737-800.
