As global supply chains grow increasingly complex, the logistics community is preparing to converge in Munich for air cargo Europe 2025. Now recognised as the largest air cargo gathering worldwide, the event has evolved into a cornerstone of the transport logistic exhibition, offering a unique platform where all transport modes connect under one roof. With over 12 halls and a record number of international participants, this year’s edition promises to spotlight the industry’s latest innovations, challenges, and opportunities.
Robert Schönberger, Global Industry Lead for transport logistic and air cargo exhibitions at Messe München, highlighted the event’s impressive growth over the past 25 years. “When we started this part of our transport logistics show in Munich, it was just an additional segment. Now, it has become a full part of the exhibition,” he shared. Today, Air Cargo Europe is recognised as the largest air cargo gathering in the world, offering unparalleled opportunities for stakeholders in the industry.
One of the key reasons for its success, Schönberger explained, is its unique integration of various transport modes: “Air cargo is always an own community, and they want to stick together, but they also need the other parts of the logistics industry. They want to meet people from maritime, road, rail transportation, and, of course, freight forwarders. In Munich, we have all these industries represented,” he said.

Air Cargo Europe 2025 is set to surpass the scale of its previous editions.
“In comparison to the last edition in 2023, which was already huge, we will cover 12 exhibition halls this time, up from 10,” Schönberger announced.
“The show becomes more and more international,” he noted. “We see a lot of exhibitors from Western Europe, Turkey and emerging markets like Asia, Africa, and Latin America. For example, participants from China, who couldn’t travel in 2023, will return in 2025, making it a truly global event.”
The growth of the event underscores the rising importance of logistics worldwide.
Logistics helps companies and regions that are usually far away to participate in global supply chains. This drives the need for more logistic services and highlights the significance of events like air cargo Europe.
Future trends
Air Cargo Europe 2025 will feature significant enhancements, including a new layout for the air cargo exhibition.
“We are moving the Air Cargo Exhibition from Hall B1 to Halls A1 and A2. This will result in an incredible increase in space,” Schönberger revealed.
The expanded halls will house major carriers, airports, GSAs, and other suppliers, offering a balanced and engaging experience for attendees.
The event will also focus heavily on sustainability and digitalisation, two key trends shaping the industry.
“We will have forum sessions on topics like sustainability and digitalisation, which are still the major trends in the logistics industry,” Schönberger said. “Exhibitors are eager to showcase their solutions in these areas, and the forums provide a platform for discussing these critical topics.”
The organisers are also streamlining processes for participants.
“We’re working to make the application and registration process smoother and easier for exhibitors and visitors,” Schönberger shared. Improvements in wireless and Wi-Fi services will also enhance the overall experience.

“We work with associations, publishing houses, and research institutes to ensure the conference topics address the latest industry trends.”
The sessions aim to bring together diverse stakeholders to discuss key issues
“For example, when it comes to infrastructure, you need everyone to discuss the needs. It’s about building a common vision for the future, involving key players, startups, and major companies to invest in new ideas.”
One of the event’s strengths is its ability to attract high-level participants.
“More than 50 percent of our visitors come from outside Germany, emphasising the international nature of the event,” Schönberger said.
“These visitors often have purchasing power and are decision-makers, which is highly valued by exhibitors.”
Schönberger’s outlook for 2025 is optimistic. “The air cargo industry is unpredictable, but it’s resilient. When one market faces challenges, others present new opportunities,” he noted.
“The strong participation we’re seeing for air cargo Europe reflects the industry’s confidence and readiness to engage.”
With its expansive reach, innovative focus, and commitment to fostering collaboration, Air Cargo Europe 2025 is set to reinforce its position as the premier event for the global air cargo community.
“If you want to be part of the game, you have to be present at this important meeting.”
