MSA Security certified by TSA Third Party Canine Program

MSA Security has become the first company certified under the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s Third Party Canine Cargo Program as a Certified Cargo Security Facility – Canine (CCSF-K9).

The Third Party Canine Cargo Program was introduced by TSA under the Certified Cargo Screening Programs to provide screening for air cargo in a safe and efficient manner.

Under the program, non-government entities acting under TSA approval can certify explosive detection canine teams from third-party providers.

Certified canine teams can be deployed to screen for aircraft operators, foreign air carriers, and other TSA-regulated parties operating under a TSA-approved security program.

MSA director of air cargo and aviation, Marc Murphy says: “Due to a global increase in shipping and logistics, the protection of the air cargo sector with top-tier explosive detection solutions has become critical.

“In the past, researchers have spent billions trying to replicate the scent detection capabilities of canines, but properly trained dogs remain the most effective and efficient solution. MSA’s world renowned Windsor Program produces explosive detection canines with the agility and accuracy to be the centrepiece of excellent security solutions for the air cargo industry.”

MSA CEO, Glen Kucera says: “While supplying the most effective canines and handlers across numerous industries, we have committed ourselves to exceeding the rising challenge presented in the air cargo space. At MSA, we operate offices and training facilities in leading global cargo hubs, including New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Memphis, San Diego, Dubai and Hong Kong, in order the provide unmatched service to our air cargo clients.”
