Messe Muenchen acquires shows from STAT Times

Messe Muenchen has extended its network of trade events with the acquisition of Air Cargo Africa and Air Cargo India from STAT Trade Times.

STAT Trade Times’ co-owner former owner of acquisitions, Priyo Patra will work with Messe Muenchen to make the two events even bigger.

Messe Muenchen member of the management board, Gerhard Gerritzen says: “With the Air Cargo trade shows in India and South Africa, we are complementing our international logistics network of successful events in important markets.”

Patra adds: “We are delighted that Air Cargo India and Air Cargo Africa, which have over the year grown to become the ‘go-to events’ for air freight industry in their respective markets, are going to be part of transport logistic exhibitions. I am looking forward to be associated with them actively in the years ahead.”

The next Air Cargo Africa will take place in Johannesburg from 19 – 21 February 2019 with Air Cargo India following in 2020. 80 exhibitors and 2126 visitors attended the 2017 instalment of Air Cargo Africa.

In India, Messe Muenchen already hosts transport logistic India @ CTL in collaboration with Exim India, which takes place every two years but has no air cargo section.

Gerritzen says: “You can see clearly that the acquisitions complement our transport logistic portfolio optimally.”

Messe Muenchen’s trade show network already includes Air Cargo Europe in Munich, Air Cargo China in Shanghai and Logitrans Istanbul.
