MASkargo works around the clock

MASkargo has been working with Malaysia’s government authorities to ensure the country will have access much needed medical equipment and supplies. Logistics, flight plans and cargo space management of the medical supplies have been planned accordingly. The majority of the cargo is being imported from China.

On March 25 alone, 300,000 disposable masks, 50,000 protection suits and 8,000 protection suits with eye masks, all courtesy of the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation, were flown to Malaysia from China.

“We have changed our freighter schedules to manage these high priority cargo movements. There were difficulties due to airport restrictions but with co-operation by both governments, the kinks were ironed out and our team has been working day and night to ensure that the medical equipment arrives safely in Malaysia,” Ibrahim Mohammed Salleh, CEO of MASkargo commented.

“To address the capacity storage, we are also looking at passenger-to-cargo (P2C) flights where Malaysia Airlines passenger aircraft are used to fly only cargo out of China.”
