LUG aircargo handling realigns management team

LUG aircargo handling has created a new department of strategic product development headed by Wolfgang Voigt to better deal with future market challenges, while Axel van Hees has been promoted to manager of operations of its Frankfurt station.

LUG says it has realigned the management team to “strengthen competitiveness and responsiveness” to the ever growing, new challenges in the air cargo business.

Voigt is currently operations manager, and takes over the newly created department of strategic product development, which LUG says prepares the way for a dynamic, future-oriented expansion of her service portfolio.

LUG aircargo handling managing director and chief executive officer (CEO), Patrik Tschirch says: “Our aim is to strengthen our innovation power so that we can maintain our position of excellence and pioneer in air cargo handling. We want to grow again and offer our customers an even more comprehensive service portfolio.

“We are currently contemplating to expand our activities by accepting more daily routines from airlines such as reservation services and weight & balance calculations. The potential is there.”

Van Hees takes over the baton from Voigt as operations manager in Frankfurt but will remain head of aviation security. Voigt and van Hees will both report directly to MD and CEO Patrik Tschirch. Nina Strippel remains manager sales, customer services and quality.
