Lufthansa honours most important RFS partners

Lufthansa honours most important RFS partners

Lufthansa Cargo is to honour its most important road feeder services (RFS) forwarding partners for the first time by naming them a ‘Premium Road Partner’.

The carrier says besides reliability and flexibility, punctuality was also a key criterion in the selection process. Among the partners recognised were Hartmut Bollinger and Herr Kay Bollinger, management of Grüne Radler.

Others named as premium partners were TAJ Road Cargo Service, Kim Johansen International Transport, Dieter Kretzler, Aircargo Transport, Georgi & Co KG Transport, Georg Reischl Sedition, J.A.M de Rijk, Ibertin, Prevost Hungaria Kft and TAJ.

Lufthansa says 600,000 tonnes of cargo are transported via (RFS each year and with 65,000 scheduled trips in Europe and 26,000 outside of Europe, logistics firms honoured had already proven themselves to be reliable and strategically important partners last year.

The carrier says new contracts govern a guaranteed rate of acceptance between Lufthansa Cargo and the forwarders, which were signed in 2016 and certificates awarded underscore the intention to extend the cooperation in 2017 and the long term.

Lufthansa Cargo board member for product and sales, Dr Alexis von Hoensbroech says: “We have been offering our customers top quality in the area of road feeder services as well for many years.

“This is made possible through close, reliable cooperation with our partners. I am extremely pleased to be able to bestow on the best of these the title of Premium Road Partner to Lufthansa Cargo today.

“We all share the goal of offering our customers the best service at all times. And we want to continue down this successful road together.”

Lufthansa Cargo’s RFS acts as an air cargo transport replacement service, organising the transport of air cargo shipments with an air waybill via truck. It covers a substantial part of the Lufthansa Cargo’s global transport process chain.
