Lufthansa Cargo returns to Miami after 25-year break

Miami International Airport has welcomed Lufthansa Cargo back after a 25-year break, with weekly Boeing 777 Freighter flights from Frankfurt.

The weekly service resumed on Tuesday 5 November, and adds to daily passenger flights.

Germany is Miami airport’s top European trade partner by value, with imports and exports amounting to $2.2 billion.

Carlos Gimenez, mayor of Miami-Dade County says: “Our community already benefits from the daily world-class passenger service Lufthansa provides, and we look forward to the additional economic impact its cargo service will have on our community.”

Norbert Pahlsmeyer, director sales and handling Florida for Lufthansa Cargo says: “MIA is served by four daily flights to Europe with great connections to the world – and we are now adding the weekly freighter to serve additional demand for outsized and special cargo, connecting MIA to the global Lufthansa Cargo freighter network.”
