Lufthansa Cargo begins weekly A321 freighter service to Beirut

Lufthansa Cargo’s Airbus A321 freighter touched down in Beirut for the first time on Thursday, 3 July 2025, marking the launch of a new weekly service between Frankfurt and the Lebanese capital.

Operating under flight numbers LH8354 and LH8355, the route will run every Thursday. Lufthansa Cargo first announced the new connection on 3 June 2025 during the air cargo Europe and transport logistic trade fair in Munich, Germany. The service adds dedicated cargo capacity alongside existing bellyhold capacity across the Lufthansa Group. The new route enhances Lufthansa Cargo’s reach to over 50 destinations in the Middle East and Africa.

“Beirut’s strategic location and diverse export base make it a vital logistics hub. With our new freighter connection via Frankfurt, we’re unlocking the flow of a wide range of exports – such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, textiles, electronics, and traditional Lebanese crafts – to Europe, the Americas, and Africa,” said Antonio Tassone, Head of Sales and Handling for the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Tassone added that the route will also support growing trade from neighbouring Syria, where cross-border activity is gradually resuming. Oliver Rossius, Head of Scheduling and Network Steering, said, “Frankfurt’s position as a major logistics hub in Europe, combined with its extensive infrastructure, makes it an ideal starting and transit point for our new freighter service to Beirut. This route opens up significant opportunities for exporters from all around the world looking to expand their reach into Lebanon and neighbouring regions, where demand for high-quality products, especially from Germany, is on the rise.”
