The Logitrans Istanbul trade show remained strong in 2016 despite political and economic challenges, following its 10th edition.
Around 13,500 participants from 50 countries and 180 exhibitors from 26 countries participants took part of the trade fair which took place at the IFM Istanbul Expo Center from 16 – 18 November.
EKO MMI managing director, Ilker Altun says: “The general economic climate is still challenging, which is why we are all more than pleased that the number of visitors remained stable. As far as future exhibitions are concerned, we expect the number of exhibitors to increase again.”
Messe München member of the management board, Gerhard Gerritzen adds: “Turkey is and will remain the logistics hub for the Eurasian region. That is what makes a trade fair like logitrans so important.”
The PeriLog conference returned for a second year to discuss supply chain management of perishable goods. Airfreight took an increasingly prominent role, with the session ‘Electronic Air Waybill and e-Freight Systems’ on 17 November and visitors got the chance to hear about plans for the new Istanbul Airport on 18 November with the session ‘Global Logistics Hub of the future: Istanbul New Airport’.
Logitrans will return to Istanbul next year from 15 – 17 November 2017.
