  • Ben Fletcher appointed CEO of Logistics UK, joining on 1st December and assuming full responsibilities from the start of the new year.
  • Fletcher brings extensive experience from Make UK, where he served as COO overseeing public affairs, membership, and business operations.
  • The appointment aims to strengthen Logistics UK’s influence with policymakers and enhance services for members, building on the successes of outgoing CEO David Wells and Acting CEO Kevin Green.

The Board of Logistics UK has announced the appointment of Ben Fletcher as CEO. Fletcher joins on 1 December and will assume his full responsibilities from the start of the new year.

Fletcher joins Logistics UK after a highly successful career, including, most recently, senior roles at Make UK, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he was responsible for public affairs, membership, and the business arms of the organisation. During his tenure, Ben played a central role in the successes that Make UK has achieved over the past eight years.

Announcing the appointment, Phil Roe, President at Logistics UK, said: “In appointing Ben, we are building upon the successful team we have at Logistics UK and looking to further enhance our delivery for members across both public affairs and business services. In particular, we aim to strengthen our influence among policymakers and regulators to deliver improved outcomes for the entire logistics sector.”

Accepting his new role, Fletcher commented: “I am proud to be leading Logistics UK, one of the country’s most powerful trade associations and the driving force behind the world’s best logistics industry.

“Our sector is the backbone of Britain’s economy, connecting people, products, and progress every minute of every day.

“As we confront once-in-a-generation economic challenges and opportunities, I am committed to ensuring that our voice drives change at the heart of government, and that our members have the services, skills, and support they need to innovate, grow, and lead the future of logistics.”

Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to David Wells for his dedication and service over the past 15 years, and to Kevin Green for his excellent work as Acting CEO. Green will continue as Director of Policy, Marketing, and Communications in the new year.
