LogiPharma: 25 years of connecting the cool chain

The cool chain is an integral part of the pharmaceutical supply chain, ensuring that temperature-sensitive products, such as biologics, vaccines, and personalised medicines, reach patients safely and efficiently.

“LogiPharma has always been about uniting the entire pharmaceutical and life sciences supply chain in one space. The significance of this event lies in its ability to break down silos—bringing together logistics leaders, supply chain experts, regulatory professionals, and technology innovators,” Will Robinson, Director of LogiPharma, stated.

“By gathering all key stakeholders under one roof, LogiPharma fosters cross-sector collaboration, innovation, and best practice sharing, making it the most important event for pharmaceutical supply chain professionals globally.” Attendees and focus LogiPharma is expecting almost 2,500 senior-level attendees from across the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and med tech industries.

Delegates will represent a diverse mix of companies, from major pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer, Novartis, and GSK, to fastgrowing biotech firms and logistics providers such as DHL, UPS, and Kuehne+Nagel. Coupled with this, the organisers are once again cohosting LogiMed at the event, bringing together every node in the end to end medical device industry.

“Geographically, we anticipate strong participation from across Europe, North America, and APAC, with growing interest from emerging markets,” Robinson stated. “Attendees will include supply chain executives, logistics managers, quality and compliance professionals, procurement specialists, and technology providers. The breadth of participation underscores LogiPharma’s role as the premier event for driving innovation and collaboration in the industry.”

This year’s event will focus on several critical themes shaping the industry today and into the future. Some of the key topics include:

• Digital Transformationand Automated, Data-Driven Supply Chains – How AI, blockchain, and IoT are revolutionising supply chain visibility, predictive analytics, and decision-making.

• Resilience and Risk Management – Strategies to mitigate disruptions from geopolitical tensions, climate change, and raw material shortages.

• Sustainability and Green Logistics – The industry’s push towards carbon-neutral supply chains, eco-friendly packaging, and reducing emissions.

• Regulatory Compliance and Global Trade Challenges – Adapting to evolving global regulations and ensuring end-to-end compliance in the face of new policies.

• Personalised Medicine and Cold Chain Innovations – Managing the logistics of small-batch, highly sensitive therapies and ensuring integrity across complex distribution networks.

• Collaboration and Partnering for Success – How pharma companies, logistics providers, and technology firms can work together more effectively.

The agenda has been carefully designed to address the most pressing challenges and emerging trends in the industry. Some of the key sessions include:

• Executive Keynotes and Industry Panels – Insights from top supply chain executives on the future of pharma logistics.

• Breakout Tracks and Workshops – Covering specific topics such as AI-driven logistics, temperature-controlled shipping, and regulatory compliance.

• Innovation Showcases – Featuring the latest supply chain technologies, automation tools, and real-time monitoring solutions.

• Networking Roundtables and 1:1 Meetings – Providing opportunities for industry leaders to connect, share best practices, and explore potential partnerships.

• Closed Door ‘Straight Talk’ Boardrooms – An opportunity to close the door under Chatham House Rule and have ‘no holds barred’ discussions on key pain points in the industry.

25th anniversary Over the last 25 years, both LogiPharma and the pharmaceutical supply chain landscape have evolved significantly. When the event started, the focus was largely on optimising traditional logistics models, streamlining distribution networks, and improving efficiency. Fast forward to today, and the sector sees a far more complex environment—one defined by digitalisation, sustainability, resilience, and regulatory scrutiny.

“The cool chain, in particular, has undergone dramatic changes. The rise of biologics, cell and gene therapies, and Covid-19 vaccine distribution challenges have pushed cold chain logistics into the spotlight,” Robinson expressed.

“Innovations such as real-time temperature monitoring, AI-driven risk management, and advanced packaging solutions have transformed how pharmaceutical companies manage temperature-sensitive shipments. LogiPharma has mirrored these industry shifts, growing from a niche conference to a global platform where the biggest players in pharma, med tech, and logistics come together to address the most pressing challenges.

“This 25th anniversary event is not just a milestone—it’s an opportunity to look ahead and shape the next chapter of pharmaceutical supply chains. We’re thrilled to welcome the industry’s brightest minds to Lyon in April and look forward to three days of innovation, collaboration, and progress.”
