Liege Airport welcomes weekly Air China Cargo flights

Liege Airport has further developed its relationship with China with weekly services to Shanghai operated by Air China Cargo.

The Boeing 777-200 flights will initially be weekly but Liege says it hopes this will increase, and will open up opportunities for the booming e-commerce sector.

Liege Airport vice president – commercial, Steven Verhasselt says: “We welcome Air China Cargo into the Liege Airport Cargo Community. We are proud to serve another national cargo carrier. We will support them in order to achieve the joint goal of expanding the operation and increasing regular flights.”

He says with Flexpress serving e-commerce providers, and a growing number of connections with China by FedEx, ASL Belgium and Air China Cargo, Liege is creating opportunities for exporters and importers to take advantage of the boom in e-commerce.

The ground and cargo handling will be provided by LACHS.

Air China Cargo has three Boeing 747-400 Freighters, eight Boeing 777 Freighters and four Boeing 757-200SF Freighters.
