KLM welcomes eighth 787 Dreamliner to its fleet

KLM has taken delivery of its eighth Boeing 787 Dreamliner, registration PH-BHI and named ‘Lavender’, keeping up for flower name theme.

The aircraft landed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at 08.00h on 24 September and arrived a month after KLM received its seventh 787. The ninth Dreamliner is expected to arrive in July 2017.

All of KLM’s 787 Dreamliners are being named after flowers, having taken delivery of Sunflower, Carnation, Bougainvillea, Dahlia, Hibiscus, Mimosa and Jasmine.

KLM is also upgrading its fleet replacing Fokker 70s with Embraer 190s and 175s. It took delivery of its third 175 in August and is expecting to have 15 by 2018.
