John Menzies has appointed Alvaro Gomez-Reino as chief financial officer and has created an executive management board.
Gomez-Reino, who will take up his post and join the board of directors on 1 December, has held senior financial positions with Amey, Ferrovial and Swissport where he was chief financial officer.
In recognition of his work, Mervyn Walker has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer with immediate effect.
He is responsible for the delivery of global operations and tasked with ensuring high-quality service to customers.
Along with these appointments, the executive board has been created, and will be chaired by executive chairman Philipp Joeinig.
The board will consist of Giles Wilson, chief executive; John Geddes, corporate affairs director; and Claire Hall, executive vice president people; together with Gomez-Reino and Walker.
The executive management board will be responsible for the overall delivery of the group’s strategy and business performance, concentrating on both organic and inorganic growth.
