Jettainer to manage ASL Airlines Belgium’s ULD fleet

ASL Airlines Belgium has picked Jettainer to manage its ULD fleet, with the five-year contract starting with immediate effect.

The Liege Airport-based cargo airline, which is part of ASL Aviation Holdings Group, specialises in the express market and offers scheduled, charter and ad-hoc flights using Boeing 737 and 747 freighters.

ASL’s existing fleet of ULDs, consisting of about 1,500 units will be utilised on its European network and flights to the USA, China and the Middle East.

Marc Bollinne, managing director of ASL Airlines Belgium says: “The key aspect of our outsource plan was to find a provider that could give us absolute reliability to that our global clients continue to receive the first-class service they expect from ASL Airlines Belgium. With Jettainer we found the ideal partner to increase the efficiency of ULD handling with additional financial and ecological improvements.”

Thorsten Riekert, director of sales at Jettainer says: “With ASL Airlines Belgium we can welcome the second Belgium airline in our growing client base, after Brussels Airlines. In this context, we are also enhancing our presence at the airport Liege, which in the recent past became increasingly more important due to significant growth in the cargo sector.”
