Jan de Rijk increase road feeder capacity

This week Daniel Uijtdewillegen, director international transport Jan de Rijk Logistics, received the keys of the first delivery of new trucks out of the hands of Johan Claassen, sales manager, TB Bastianen.

The delivery of the first eight DAF trucks are part of a larger investment program to substantially expand Jan de Rijk’s road feeder capacity.

”Early 2020 we anticipated on a strong expansion in the demand for high quality road feeder services,” explains Uijtdewillegen. “Apart from the initial shock early March caused by the corona outbreak, demand recovered strongly. Having a strong backbone of owned modern equipment enabled us to swiftly respond to that demand and service our clients during a volatile peak season. This continued expansion  of the fleet capacity is also a mainstay for our strategy in 2021. So far the strong demand for capacity this year proves our point and makes these keys part of our key to success.”

The trucks are equipped with a EURO 6 MX 11, 450 hp engine that is both economical and environmentally friendly. Optimum performance can be achieved in combination with the standard mounted TraXon automatic gearbox.
