Introducing people to the industry

Introducing people to the industry

The Air Cargo France Association (ACFA) aims to unite the French cargo community, represent its stakeholders, and act to make it more attractive, all in order to defend the common interests of its members. Through its various working groups, ACFA works to promote the airfreight activity in order to inspire new vocations and to introduce as many people as possible to the exciting careers in the airfreight transportation community.

From ground handling agents or airlines to customs brokers, operations and sales staff, the positions offered by the airfreight sector provide a very comprehensive large range of jobs opened to both men and women. Striving for parity in a job-rich sector and seeing more and more women hired air transport activities is one of our main challenges.

Promoting air transport professions also involves a personalised welcome from professionals who are engaged and passionate about their jobs, and take time out of their work to present and explain all the workings of an airport, from the arrival of a package to its loading onto a plane. The various stages of package handling require skills and abilities that can be acquired throughout a person’s career.

The air cargo transportation sector, which is constantly growing, requires dedicated and specialised expertise and makes every effort to find trained and competent collaborators. To create awareness about the airfreight industry, ACFA members participate in Master Classes at schools and universities, take part in conferences and forums, are introduced to the various jobs within their companies, and are offered visits or internships for a complete discovery of airfreight transport environment.

However, meeting students is not always sufficient. To reach as many people as possible, ACFA has set up immerse cargo tours of the Roissy Charles de Gaulle hub, including visits to areas at the heart of operations. Additionally, ACFA offers curiosity paths within companies: at freight forwarders, handlers or airlines where the employees introduce and explain their work environment.

As you can see, the various actions of ACFA aim to pique the interest of people and arouse curiosity about the profession and vocations!
