IAG Cargo’s sixth Cargo Live episode

IAG Cargo has hosted the sixth installment of their LinkedIn Live series, with guest commentary from Webcargo by Freightos, Seabury Cargo and Neutral Air Partner.

  • Christos Spyrou, CEO and founder, Neutral Air Partner (NAP) [04:40 – 15:55]
    • Christos gave insight into how NAP came about and what the company has to offer SMEs.
  • Marco Bloemen, managing director and head of Seabury Cargo [16:06 – 23:45]
    • Marco provided an update on capacity development since the start of 2022, touching on areas such as the how the Shanghai lockdown and war in Ukraine is affecting cargo and logistics.
    • He also touches on how chemicals (largely for COVID testing) and fashion items (particularly women’s clothing) have increased in terms of shipments.
    • Notably, even though capacity overall is recorded to be down by 4% (vs. 2019) between Jun 13 – Jun 26, 2022, there are differences in trade lanes with transatlantic capacity returning to levels seen in 2019.
  • Camilo Garcia Cervera, VP global business development at WebCargo by Freightos  [24:00-35:05]
    • Camilo discussed the past, present and future of digital air cargo – focusing on how the industry can harness digital functionalities to streamline services and make the supply chain more efficient.
