IAG Cargo launches ‘Critical’ for emergency shipments

IAG Cargo has added to its premium services with the launch of its emergency shipment product, ‘Critical’, to guarantee the cargo will fly.

Critical will be available from 3 October and is IAG Cargo’s first non-off loadable product, providing shipments with a guarantee to fly on the service booked. It says critical shipments will be intensely monitored and guaranteed to fly.

IAG Cargo commercial director, David Shepherd says: “We understand the pressure our freight forwarders and supply chain partners come under when a customer demands that a shipment must move that day.”

He continues: “Until now we have not had a product that fully satisfies this unique need, with short cut off times and non-off loadable status, we can now fully meet the exact demands for shipments that simply must fly.”

IAG Cargo says several businesses have already signed up to the carrier’s new product ranging from aerospace to high tech sectors. Examples it gives of the sort of industries that would find the product useful include an aircraft engine needing an emergency spare part in Brazil or a key drill bit fails offshore in Nigeria.
