Gebruder Weiss has formed a country organisation in the USA in five locations following expansion projects in Germany, China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The brand commenced operations in the USA on 3 July, taking over Atlanta, Boston and Los Angeles from a former US joint venture and opening two further locations in New York and Chicago, which will service as the head office for Gebruder Weiss USA.
In addition to transport services – primarily focused on air and sea freight – Gebruder Weiss will now offer specific logistics solutions at its new location, with the portfolio ranging from goods storage and local distribution to e-commerce.
Gebruder Weiss management board member, Heinz Senger-Weiss says: “We are combining a globally consistent network with a high degree of local expertise. With this concept, we also want to strengthen our position as a Service Excellence logistics provider at the new locations.”
The company has developed its presence in China with operations in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, supported by a representative office in Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province since 1 July.
Another Chinese office in Guangzhou is scheduled to open this summer, while over in Germany, an office at Dusseldorf Airport will supplement air and sea freight in Hamburg and Frankfurt, with offices in Munich and Stuttgart planned in the course of the year.
