Gebrüder Weiss adds Taskhent to Silk Road network

Gebrüder Weiss has increased its coverage on the Silk Road by opening a representative office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 30 July.

The Tashkent office adds a piece to the mosaic of expanding the land route between Europe and China, and complements offices in Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia and China.

Thomas Moser, director and regional manager Black Sea/CIS at Gebrüder Weiss says: “This adds to our local presence in Central Asia, enabling us to pave the way for our customers to a promising market, as the links between Europe and Asia are becoming increasingly important.”

He also says: “In addition to land transport, air and sea freight also make up part of our service portfolio.”

Customers in Tashkent and the surrounding area will be served by local staff, and as an organisation the Uzbek office will be assigned to the Almaty, Kazakhstan branch.
