Air Partner has built on its outstanding performance in 2017 with the Freight division’s profits growing 45% for the year ending on 31 January 2019.
Gross profits for the Freight division increased 45.3% to £4.9 million, up from £3.4 million in 2018 and representing 13.8% of the group’s overall gross profit.
The Freight team was established at the Fort Lauderdale, USA office and offices were opened in Houston, USA and Singapore in early 2019, with Freight services on offer.
Cargo work was carried out over a number of sectors including automotive, aid, aerospace and energy, with customer requirements varying from a small box via the on-board courier service to chartering an Antonov AN-225.
The Fort Lauderdale team were busy on numerous projects including co-ordinating 30 charters carrying humanitarian aid to Guam and Saipan during the typhoon season.
The Turkey office arranged the transportation of 500 tonnes of construction material to West Africa, and the UK benefitted from supporting airlines in aircraft on ground recovery, as well as government flights.
In Germany, the team continued to see high levels of activity from the automotive sector and delivered its 11th consecutive year of growth.
