Fleet training leader takes the wheel at logistics body

A leading South West fleet training expert has been appointed chair of an influential national trade forum.

Samantha Leleu, Director at PDT Fleet Training and Pertemps South West, based in Gloucester, has taken up the role of Chair of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) Logistics and Transport Sector Forum.

Sam’s appointment follows a sector-wide nomination and voting process and marks a major milestone in her 22-year career in logistics, transport and skills development.

The Chair role is a key strategic position within AELP, focused on shaping national skills policy and championing practical, future-facing workforce solutions across the sector.

Sam said: “I’m proud to accept the role of Chair for the AELP Logistics and Transport Sector Forum and incredibly grateful to those who supported my nomination.

“With over two decades of experience – spanning operations, workforce development, and strategic training delivery – I’ve seen first-hand the critical role our industry plays, and how urgent the need is for scalable workforce solutions.

“This is a time of significant change, but also one of great opportunity. As Chair, I’m committed to supporting providers, employers and stakeholders to collaborate, innovate and build a workforce that meets both today’s economic demands and the aspirations of tomorrow’s talent.

“I look forward to working closely with AELP members to ensure our sector is heard, supported, and equipped to thrive.”

Steve West, Pertemps Group CEO, said: “We’re incredibly proud of Samantha’s appointment. It’s an achievement that is not only well deserved, but also a testament to her unwavering professionalism, extensive experience and knowledge, and longstanding commitment to the sector.”
