Finnair Cargo to use first A350 on Shanghai service

Finnair's first Airbus A350XWB

Finnair Cargo is to start using its first Airbus A350 eXtraWideBody (XWB) on services between Helsinki and Shanghai from 21 November.

The flight will leave Helsinki Vantaa Airport at 17.10h and arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 08.15h the following day. The return flight will leave Shanghai at 10.05h and arrive back in Helsinki at 14.40h.

Finnair has 19 A350 XWBs on order and plans to phase out its Airbus A340s by the end of 2017. When this happens, its widebody fleet will consist of Airbus A330s and A350s. The Finnish carrier says the A350 provides increased cargo capacity and significant improvements in environmental performance and efficiency, through payload and usage of lighter materials. Finnair says the A350 will double the carrier’s long haul cargo capacity by 2020.
