FedEx enhances China-to-Europe capacity by adding five weekly flights

  • FedEx has launched five additional weekly Boeing 777 freighter flights from China to Paris, enhancing its Asia–Europe network in response to rising demand ahead of the year-end shopping season.

  • The new routes depart from two strategic locations:

    • Three flights from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (FedEx APAC Hub)

    • Two flights from Shanghai International Express and Cargo Hub

  • All flights connect directly to FedEx’s European Hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, improving speed and flexibility for shipments in e-commerce, manufacturing, high-tech, and retail sectors.

  • The expansion strengthens access for Asian businesses to European markets, with delivery to major European destinations in as little as 48 hours.

Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has expanded its global reach with five weekly flights connecting China to Paris, France. The additional flights reinforce FedEx commitment to boosting trade between Asia and Europe, equipping Asian businesses with faster, more reliable access to European markets and greater flexibility, just in time for the year-end festive shopping season.

The flights operate from two key hubs: three from the FedEx APAC Hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, and two depart from the FedEx Shanghai International Express and Cargo Hub. All flights utilize the Boeing 777 freighters, connecting directly to the FedEx European Hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. This expansion will empower businesses in the region to capitalize on trade opportunities in high demand sectors including e-commerce, manufacturing, high-tech, and retail, and especially to respond to the holiday peak season with greater flexibility, capturing new growth for their businesses.

Asia and Europe are vital trading partners with increasingly close economic ties. In the first half of 2025, China’s total import and export value with the EU reached RMB 2.82 trillion, a 3.5% increase year-on-year, accounting for 12.9% of China’s total foreign trade value, making the EU China’s second-largest trading partner[1]. With deeply interconnected demand, China and the EU serve as each other’s largest consumer goods import markets[2]. Meanwhile, the integration of China–EU industrial and supply chains is accelerating, with China’s exports to the EU of auto parts, textiles and apparel, household appliances, and laptops experiencing rapid growth[3].

“As the global trade landscape continues to evolve, the European market is playing an increasingly pivotal role in the global strategies of Chinese businesses,” said Poh-Yian Koh, president of FedEx China. “In response to customers’ growing demand for efficient and flexible logistics solutions, we’re continuously optimizing our Asia-to-Europe network. These new flights mark a significant step in flexing our international air capacity to support the APAC–Europe trade corridor with enhanced capability and reliability. By strengthening our global network, FedEx empowers customers to navigate peak season opportunities, optimize their logistics experience, and seamlessly connect to European markets.”

With increased frequencies between APAC and Europe, FedEx now operates 26 weekly flights connecting APAC shipments to Europe, delivering express shipments to major European destinations in as little as 48 hours. FedEx has a robust network in place with six gateways in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, and Xiamen), and three major logistics hubs in Europe (Paris, Cologne, and Liège). The recent inauguration of our new global air transit facility in Istanbul further enhances our capabilities. Leveraging our extensive APAC–Europe network, FedEx enables businesses to access key European markets quickly and efficiently, facilitating seamless trade and growth.
