FedEx has donated essential school equipment to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK in support of children’s charity Action for Children (AFC).
The charity helps more than 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers through 650 projects across the UK.
As part of the FedEx Cares programme, team members collected over 2,500 school items, which will be distributed to children and young people at nine AFC services across the UK in time for the start of the new school year.
FedEx donations included new and unused pens, colouring pencils and notepads, as well as first aid and sewing kits.
FedEx vice president for operations in Northern Europe, Trevor Hoyle, says: “Our team members are always willing to support and give back to their local communities and we’re incredibly proud of their generous spirit and commitment to making a positive difference throughout the UK.
“We have a longstanding relationship with Action for Children and we hope our combined support will help ensure these children and young people have the best possible start to the new school year.”
AFC corporate fundraising manager, Mary O’Hagan, says the initiative will enable the charity to help children and young people in the local area get the best possible start to the new school year.
